One of the most important parameters which reflect the state of your practice is the number of absolutely brand new patients per week or a fortnight or in a month.
That is the most accurate understanding of your credibility and your standing in the locality.
Now the only way a practice can get new patients is from your existing patient base. The advertising exercises will work only if they are done under the guidance of an experienced practice management consultant.
So now look into your existing patient base and try to find out how many of your existing patients are actively referring their family and friends to you.
Then try and find out why others are not doing so. Just because they are your patients does not mean that they are active referrers.
Somebody can be your patient for years but may still not be active in referring others to you.
To find out why a patient is not your active referrer is an exercise by itself.
You will need to put in place a feedback system in place to find out what are the patients perceptions of your practice.
Remember not all your patients are your fans.
The challenge is to make all your patients your active fans. This is done by looking into all aspects of your practice and improving it.
